Dalle Ore

Wine fairs are a lot like speed dating.  Often times you know immediately whether you and a grower are simpatico or just another business card.  Meeting Marco Margoni Dalle Ore and his daughter Benedetta at Raw Wine in 2019, we sensed that this was the beginning of a great partnership.  Marco's deeply philosophical approach to farming and winemaking shines through in his wines.  He is the fourth generation to tend land in the Veneto town of Trissino where he envisions viticulture as a form of community service. Chatting with Marco he's likely to wonder aloud why society perpetuates industrial agriculture that creates great vast quantities of soulless produce.  In a region known for mass production, he is a shining light of clarity and purpose.

The estate is certified organic and uses biodynamic practices in the vineyard. A fifth of the estate is maintained as forest and meadows to encourage biodiversity. To ensure the transference of the energy Marco guides from the vineyard into the glass, the winemaking at Dalle Ore is strictly without manipulation.  Only sulfur is added when necessary and in minimal quantities.

Klos Pet-Nat IGT Veneto - 100% Raboso Nero
Grown on volcanic soils with South facing aspect.  Hand harvested.  2 days of skin contact.  Fermentation with native yeasts.  Fermentation continues in bottle sur lie.  Disgorged without dosage.  No added sulfur.  11.5% alcohol.

La Garganica IGT Veneto - 100% Garganega
Grown on volcanic soils with South facing aspect.  Hand harvested.  30 days on skins.  Fermentation with native yeasts in stainless steal.  Unfined and unfiltered with only 2.5mg/l sulfur added at bottling.  11% alcohol.

Acronia - IGT Veneto - 100% Garganega.
From very old vines tended by Dalle Ore's neighbors.  Harvested a little later than typical for increased richness of fruit to balance the thick skins. Hand harvested.  14 days on skins.  Fermentation with native yeasts in stainless steal.  Unfined and unfiltered with only 2.5mg/l sulfur added at bottling.  11% alcohol.

Cabernet Franc IGT Veneto
From 25 year old vines on volcanic soils with a South facing aspect.  Hand harvested.  Maceration and fermentation with native yeasts in 80hl barrels.  Unfined and unfiltered with only 10mg/l sulfur added at bottling. 13% alcohol.
